i thought about selling but i like it too much, i wanna get a set of AFR's and an itake manifold for it... not sure which one tho. im glad i put it in a truck that dosent handle worth shit to begin with cuz i dont think i could bear to take the handling away from the stang haha but if you build a 429 they can make some serious hp, theyre just reall heavy

429 help

hi I also need help with a 429 (the air cleaner says 429-4v Lima) on a 1988 F-700. It runs bad (rich fuel/backfiring) I heard the carbs are a pain because of the power valves and should switch to a Elderock or Carter (it has a Holly?) any sugestions. There is a kit on ebay to rebuild (with one power valve) for about $20. What other carbs will fit on this? I dont mind less power like a 600cfs because I use it 1 week out of the year to haul fruit 1 mile from my house. Barley gets up to the speed limit by my turn off.
