I started out with a 02 GT and before I supercharged it the best run I got stock was 14.98 1/4 the rest were around 15.00- 15.20. So the times seem right even with perfect reaction times.
1. Have you had it duno-tuned ? 2. Never believe the dealer....one job to make money. 3. Invest in a hand-held tuner, I used a diablo predator handheld. If you don't have a chip you MAY be messing up the A/F ratio. Is your exhaust stock, because you will either have 2-3 sets of cats on a stock pipe. Major power robbers. 4. Did you re-gap the new plug to the correct gap. That could disturb things a little. (IMO) If not go to autozone and get a gapper for the plugs and re-gap for the appropriate space. It's only a buck or two. Check factory specs for gap info! Hope some of this helps. Oh, you didn't list your mods. That would also help the guys here help you more effectively. (note- not an expert mechanic, basic knowledge and experience (but learning more each day), love working on my Mustangs!) |

I just changed plugs and gapped them to .054 which is factory specs. Had a cat test done on the cats and passed. Still has a miss or "poof" sound in the exhaust. I ordered a xcal3 from joe @tricktuners so ill see if that will cure her. Now i can data log my info in send it to him if it still runs funny, just gotta figure out how to do it. Oh ya my mods are k@n intake, flowmaster catback, steeda tri axe, nittos just if ur wondering mang! My 60 foot times were 2.0 -2.5 i think that didnt help n it was my first time to, i just thought id be low 14's 4 sure with my mods even though it aint much.

Problem is you still have the stock headers and mid pipe. Changing this should get you (along with some dyno-tuning)there. Do you have a reliable shop near you? Be careful tuning yourself! If you can find someone reputable, have them walk you through it while it is being dyno-tuned. That way all the info and changes can be done right then and there. If it's not on the computer and the dyno you could make changes that would hurt performance. I learned a lot from my buddy at Dynotuned Performance. He went step by step and I know much more now than before.

It used to cost about 150.00, but now it is 220.00 for dyno rental and computer tuning. It is worth it if you have a good tuner person. Brent @ Dyno tuned Performance is a wiz with a computer. Keep us posted on what happens in the future!
