Help! Motorcraft Oil Filter Leaks!

Hey guys. Just changed my oil with Royal Purple and a Motorcraft filter. I lubed the gasket good, made sure the old gasket isnt still on the car, and tightened down by hand. Started the engine, watched for leaks and there were none. Took the car for a test drive(since its the first time using RP on this particular mustang, FELT A DIFFERENCE), came back, checked underneath and the filter is leaking. I tryed to hand tighten it again, but it would not budge. Started the engine let it idle and reveed it to 2000 rpm for 45 seconds, checked and no leaks..thought I was good to go. Went to the store and came back, checked and ITS LEAKING!!!!! WHY, what now?

Update: I didnt get to check everything out last night, so I waited till now to look things over. I checked the oil level(good), and I took the car for a test drive like I did yesterday before discovering the leak. When I came back, I checked underneath and no signs of a leak from the filter. ugh! Is it possible that the gasket finally seated itself against the motor and seal itself?

anything's possible. have you confirmed it's not leaking from higher up on the motor (valve cover gasket?) and simply draining down to drip off the filter? The UV dye kits work wonders for finding oil leaks.
