I just put Flowmasters on my 04 V6. It sounds pretty good to me. I have no other mods at all, just dual Flowmasters. I was hoping that it would have been a little meaner than what it is. Ive been told to add headers to finish off the desired sound. I had mine done for under $300 ($297) and for that price, Im happy with the results but it will require more work before Im completely satisfied. I have to say though, going from stock to this has been a big difference.

full mac setup would be the most power. do you have emission testing where you live?

Just today I got true dual put on. I went to Midas. They cut my Y pipe and welded two strait intermediate pipes, and then welded 2 Flowmaster Super 40's, and then welded the tail pipes. It sound AWESOME!! It just rumbles so nicely. the only downfall to it it when you really hit it, it sounds like a coffee can exhaust. but when you take it easy, it sound BEAUTIFUL. Mine was a little expensive. The Flowmaster 40's were $200 A PIECE!!!! $400 JUST FOR THE MUFFLERS!!!! But, its worth it. I dont know how much you can get it done for, but the whole setup cost me $754.06

wow you need to go yell at them for over charging you i got that same set up for 435 including 3in stainless steel tips and a crossover bar (which will get rid of that coffee can sound)

If you have emissions I would go to a muffler shop and get true duals with a crossover bar and flowmaster super 40's. with 2.25 inch piping will sound great through out the rpm band. do not pay over 375 unless you get tips though. and no you don't need a tune for a cai

I wish I could of gone somewhere else, but Midas and Mineke are the only shops withing 100 miles of me. I live in the sticks. Mineke was going to charge me about 950 for it. I had no choice. i figured i got hosed, but again, i had no choice.

you don't need 3 inch that is huge on our 6's thats probably why you have the high pitched sound.

and yes you just have to ask for side it may be alittle more expensive though. and true dual just mean 2 separate pipes not connected at all. the crossover bar will connect them and act like a custom h-pipe to even the low and te sound.

lol, yeah they did. actually, i found out why it was soo expensive., I just went and looked at the receipt. The tail and intermediate pipes are BORLA. So, its stainless steel all the way back. So, i didnt get that screwed. Any i know people wont believe me, so when I figure out how to upload pictures, on the site, I will show a picture of the receipt.

He can't do a full mac setup unless if he gets a diff k-member or notches out the stock one. The 98 is a year of its own. It's a crossover year pretty much. You will notice parts that are part of the 94-97 and parts that are part of the 99. But somewhere in there the difference in the cross member doesn't allow him to run long tube headers or any mac headers. The only headers that fit stock without any modification to the parts or car are the jba shorty headers.
