Is it worth the money?

i have a 3.8l v6.. First question is do u think its worth it to pay the 400 for the magnaflow offroad x vs the mac h at 165? second, this is what im planning for my exhaust set up so far.. mac lt $325, magnaflow mufflers.. i look at part numbers at the roush performance store and they say 3" tips and the same part number on intakesandexhaust.com says 3.5" tips.. the magnaflow site also says 3" but its also almost 200 more at their site.. any input on either thing :-/ ?

OK, are you making your V6 into a true dual exhaust? If so fo with the an all mac set up. Another good set up for a V6 is Pypes direct replacement 2.5" SS converter back. You can't beat that set up for the price.

I've heard nothing bad about pipes. There is a guy on here, Acmillr, that has an all pypes set up on his GT and loves it.

You can always get The O/R Mac H for the V6 and a MAC Performance 2.5" Cat Back System.

yeah i like the sound of that one but i think i may like the magnaflow a little more and ive read that there is more power to be gained w/ the straight through type muffler ie magnaflow vs chambered ie flow and mac

That is 100% true, but the HP loss between the two is minimal. Were talking maybe 2-3 HP.

Oh, you're talking about magnapacks. Those are straight throughs. Some people don't like the way they sound on a V6. Atlanticblue99 on here has them on his V6.

magnapacks are straight through resinator exhaust. The muffler is round to create a deep tone.

Some of the other magnaflow exhaust are straight throughs, but with out the resinator shaped exhaust to make it louder. (Just learned that right now) I don't really know too much about Mac exhaust other than the fact that they are very popular on this site and alot of people like thier sound. I don't know if they are chambered or straight through.
