cats off?

so i put an slp loumouth exhaust on my car but i still want my car to be louder..i was thinking off taking off my cats since most of my friends dont have any cats on theirs...they all have LS1's..so what do you guys think...what are the cons to having your cats taking off?..im still considering whether or not to do it..

cons are you will fail emissions if you have them thats about it

On but I have emissions other wise they would be gone

i gutted mine & put the system back on after i gutted em just because i have a visual inspection for my car in NC.. but i have a couple of connections at a local garage so i'm putting in a MAC prochamber soon..

If you have SLP LM 1 and you take your cats off your car will sound horrible, but it will make it much louder.

i dont think it would sound horrible..but after reading many post its a person's personal choice of what he likes cause everyone has their own sound they like (i hope it put it right) ...like many people think SLP sound horrible period or magnaflow are horrible...but most of friends have SLP on their cars with the cats off and i like the sound of their cars...of course they have camaros

I'm not saying no cats sound horrible with all exhaust. I will be catless next week. Just on the SLP LM 1. With the SLP LM 2 you can go catless and it will sound good. SLP LM 1 resonators have virtually zero flow restrictions and with no cats the exhaust sounds like it's coming through hollow cans at higher RPMs. It does have a mean idle though. You are quite right that it is all opinion, I'm just trying to put it out there so you don't go catless and wonder why all you friend's cars sound good with it and your Mustang sounds crappy. Nobody likes to spend mod money then regret it. In the end it is your car and your decision.
