should i take cats off??

ok im going to be installing some mac longtube headers next week on my 05 v6 and my question was should i take the cats off or leave them on,the shop doing the install said they can take them off for me,but will it help anything or hurt anything by taking them off. emissions arent a problem around here because no one checks that kinda stuff. and i also have a xcal 2 so i can bypass the sensors so my engine light wont come on.

and i was also wondering would it be worth the $300 more that its gonna cost me to put the long tubes or should i just go with the shortys, what kinda differance in sound and performance am i looking at.

Shorties are a waste of time. You will see more gains with L/T's. I would suggest getting your tune redone after the install mine is running very rich. I m going to get it dynoed here soon. As far as the cats, no you won't hurt anything and maybe pick up a pony or two. Also if you decide to put a turbo/charger you'll see better gains with the L/T's. Might wanna check out the 6er section for more info. And welcome to the site.

Borla cattless L/T's topped with Flowmasters , Roush short throw, JLT2 CAI w/ X-CAL2 from Brenspeed, Bullit 18X9 and 18X10 deep dish.
