convertible exhaust noise

Hey fellas, I have an 04 GT vert with Magnaflows on it -- was wondering if anyone has any soundproofing experience with verts, specifically if I soundproof my trunk, would it make a large difference in the interior exhaust noise levels? I love the sound of the Magnaflows, but with the top up, the sound of the exhaust comes through my back seat and the area that the top folds into something terrible -- it gives people headaches when they sit in my backseat! Should I just tell them to suck it up and enjoy the ride? And I'm trying to avoid soundproofing the entire car -- don't want all that extra weight. Any help from guys that have soundproofed their cars? Thanks.
