angermanagement Look Ma! My First Post! Join Date: Nov 2006 Posts: 1	Why Upgrade Roush Exhaust? I have a 2006 Roush with their standard catback exhaust. I was thinking of upgrading my exhaust with new headers and midpipe. But, I also live in Arizona which is strict with emissions. The question is.. what's the point? If you can't get away with long tube headers (everyone says short is useless), why spend roughly a thousand bucks (with the midpipe) on something that won't add much hp? Why not just get a CAI for less and call it a day? Any input appreciated.

mdvaldosta Maintenance Man 2002 Mustang GT 11.47@120.58 Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Valdosta, GA Posts: 3,943	Shorties are, in my opinion, not worth the time and money to install when compared to longtubes - however when you have no other choice then it's still better than nothing. I'd probably prioritize other things first that may provide a better gain, like your CAI (which is a great mod for the 05 and newer Mustangs). Definately do the mid-pipe, great gains in both power and sound there... as much as headers.
