Exhaust by Dollar

Alright. Finally. I have the money to work on my exhaust. Stock just isn't cutting it. Now, I'm a $1000 Budget for Exhaust and such related work. This has to include labor (sadly).

I don't know much about whats going to need to happen with my exhaust. What I'm hearing is new headers and LT's are the way to go. Also some huge discussion over Magnas or Flowmasters.

From personal exp. I've liked Flow but I'm asking you guys.

I need a complete setup hear, and my goal is to pretty much make my car sound agressive. Not, cheap... If I wanted that I'd drill a hole in my muffler (Hah).

I'm around mustangs alot, and at work there are 2 others. One with new headers and one stock. Pretty much the same when we all start ours up, you couldn't tell them apart. What I want, is when I start mine up... I want you to be able to hear her growl.

Alright, any suggestions? Currently I'm pulling STOCK exhaust, 2000 GT. (V8, 4.6L Obviously).

I found SLP Loudmouth II Catback Exhaust System. Good?

And then some LTS? Any specifics?

if you get that SLP system & some good quality headers & an off road x-pipe that thing will sound wicked... the LMII is a great system, i'd say go for it!

let us know what you end up doing & post some exaust sound clips when you are done!

Alright so ... pull some good headers & a nice X pipe in combo with the LMII and I'll be rockin?

Any hints on the choice of headers or X pipe. I was thinking MAC for the X but I have no clue what a good choice for headers will be.

And def. post sound clips, this should all be going down in a week so will post

Mustang SLP X-Pipe (Catted 99-04) (409.95)
SLP LM II EXHAUST: $440.28

LM II: http://www.americanmuscle.com/slpmuloiica9.html
SLP X: http://www.americanmuscle.com/slpxc99.html

Good, bad? Stupid?

Any ideas on headers that will work, and a fair estimate on what an install for this will cost me? Just an average ballpark idea?

So MSTGGT00, what ever happened with the sound clips? I was looking at the same set up you went with and I want to know how much better mine will sound than yours. LOL I eventually went with the magnapacks and the Bassani X. SLPs sound too sloppy at high RPMs . Although the LM 2s sound better than the regular LM exhaust. They are just obnoxious. So where the clips at?

Steeda

I had a steeda cat back on mine with their x-pipe and loved it. It was very quite at idle and got nice and throathy above 2000-2500 rpms. I got lots of compliments on the sound too.
