This is mine and my dads pride and joy. We have been restoring this car for about two years now with what little time and resources we have had available. It is a 1969 5.2 litre V8 fastback Mustang which we shipped over all the way from Colorado (USA) to the docks of sunny Themsport (London). we have formed a company called CAM (Classic American Muscle) and hope that one day we will be able to restore these beautiful pieces of American history as a full time occupation. As for now the main concern is getting the company off the ground ie restoring this car to its full factory fitted condition and colour. This happens to be Playboy pink, not my personal colour preference but this is the original colour and also an extremely rare colour, rumour has it that this car was only issued to the rich and famous. Possibly the legend himself known as Hugh Hefner.. anyway this car is the result of a lot of hard work and struggle which we have faced these past years and someday soon will be restored to its original glory and hopefully be the platform and step we need to have our own garage. If anyone has any info on this car it would be greatfully appreciated as even the hardcore enthusiasts dont seem to own one and only know of its rarety in this colour.. YES ITS RARE! lol click on the photobucket link and check out what we have done so far.. Much love Paddy and Dave x

Distance for H-pipe conector.

Hey guys,
Building a 68 resto mod. EFI on a 289.
I have a set of full Length headers with the O2 ports in them with 3" collectors.

I want to put a H-pipe on it or X-pipe, haven't decided yet. What I need to know is how far back the exhaust the connection between the two pipes needs to be.

1. Is there a math equation to figure this out based on flow numbers and pipe diameter? Or is it just a standard location a certain distance back from the rear of the block? What is this distance and if that's not where I measure from where do I?

2. How long should the connecting tube be? (Distance between the driver and passenger side pipes where they are joined together.)

3. What's the advantages/disadvantages to the H-Pipe Vs the X-Pipe?

I haven't found information on this in my google hunt so asking here.
I plan on going down to 2 1/4- 2 1/2 for the rest of the pipe and still going over the axle and out the tail end with the pipes.

I'm lucky and actually have access to used single, double, and triple chamber flowmasters to see which nets the proper amount of flow to back pressure ratio for HP and torque so I'll tackle that next but I want to get the cross pipe location correct for the H-pipe and re-cutting and welding pipes till I find the right spot is just a waist of time and money.

Any assistance appreciated.

I am wanting to do a swap with a 93 302 Efi into a 68 Mustang Coupe. We are going to pick up the donor car this weekend. The fuel pump is bad on the donor car now. What electric fuel pump could I get that would work on the 93 to get it to run then use it for the swap on the 68???

Also, what else would we have to out source that can't be used from the donor?

Howdy,
A friend of mine gave me a MSD Digital-6 Plus and I plan to install it in the next couple of weeks. My 64 1/2's 289 has a tired old distributor in it (that, at the very least needs to be recurved) with a Pertronix Ignitor II in place of the points. I suggested buying a new MSD Billet distributor, but he told me they weren't reliable (not his exact words).
I've also looked at the Crane Street/Strip Distributor, but it's fairly pricey. Is there a good street distributor out there that is cost effective and already set up for good street performance, that I may have overlooked?
I'm still running a flat-tappet hydraulic cam at the moment, but may be rebuilding my 289 with the intention of running a spider/roller cam setup in the future.
Thanks in Advance,
Brian

Some of you may remember that I posted some pictures a few months back of my dad's 71 mach 1. The pictures showed a lot of rust in places we didn't even know about. My uncle has worked hard on the car these past few weeks and has got most of the body back into a presentable condition body wise.

That has led him to the first obsticle in the long road to restoration. He pulled the engine out and dismantled it to see if there were any serious problems. Oh boy were there, most of the expansion plugs were rusted out and leaking, so the motor had to be pulled. My uncle proceeded to tear the engine down and low and behold... more problems. Four... count 'em four cracked pistons. The local machine shop said the block is still in excellent condition but it'll have to be bored .30 over. Yay! new pistons, which should arrive next week, will be going in.

We're throwing around the idea of putting a T-5 Transmission in there so it can have overdrive anyone got any experience with this. I know it's a pretty strong transmission and we aren't going to be racing the car or anything so thats not important. Just an overdrive gear will be nice.

I'll be keeping this thread updated as the rebuild goes on.

Hey Modded Mustang Members!

I have been a long time admirer of the beautiful classic mustangs that I have seen in my life and for the past six years have decided one day I will buy one.

I am a blank canvas for information as I have an acceptable level of knowledge when it comes to cars and engines however I don't have the equipment necessary to put theory into practice.

Is there any advice anyone can give me as to where to find stats on fuel efficiency (assuming a 1965 model) and where (In Australia) to find parts for such a car.

Thanks for ANY help you guys can give me, I promise to pay it forward/backward!

I'm looking to pick up a project car to work on this winter, found this one on craigslist. Mechanically its fine, everything works for the most part. I'm fairly new to this so I'm not too sure about my bodywork skills. Interior/engine I've got no problems, its just the exterior rust that bothers me. The wheelwells appear to be rusted out. Anyone have any suggestions? Theres more than in the pics, these are just some of the bigger spots. Is it too much rust, or am I expecting too much of a gem? I've seen some people take what look like complete rustbuckets and turn them into works of art, so I don't really know. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks.
