3.5 mm Aux input Vs. USB

Over the last few weeks, I've had some trouble with my mach 460 system and over the last 6 months my HU has been slowly dying. I think i'm going to take this as a sign to upgrade the system even though i hate to spend the money on this instead of saving for a supercharger. Back to the point, I've been looking at HU's and i think i want to stay relatively cheap while still having a nice system. I'm looking at a Pioneer 5.8" touch and a Boss flip out 7" touch (some brand walmart sells). Now pioneer sells a high speed USB for Ipod/Iphones but i heard the user interface with it is still screwy. The Boss system also has a USB port on the faceplate, but i've heard its very tempermental and doesn't always work, perhaps because they don't sell their own usb cable designed to work with their system. Now both systems have Aux inputs via a 3.5 mm jack. My question is will the audio sound the same whether or not it comes through the high speed USB or the Aux input? I like the Aux input since i retain functionality of my Iphone, meaning i dont have to go through the HU to access music and i can just play playlists straight from the phone.

Okay, I can't find it anywhere on here, so I'm hoping someone could chime in.

Is it possible to put an aftermarket disc changer into my car and have the disc changer linked to the stock stereo? I remember some Ford/Lincoln/Mercury models had a place to put these for a period of time, and I'm not sure if mine would be able to do that.

Also, if there is a way, is there a specific changer to buy?

Thanks guys.

Amp fuses

Recently, my amps powering the rear haven't been working. Starting about 3 weeks ago, I noticed that my bass wasn't hitting nearly as hard as it use to. I wrote it off as it being because i had been listening to my ipod prior to driving so i was use to the music being loud. The other day it was nice out so i had the windows down and system up and realized something wasnt right. I got in the back of the car and the tweeters are working, but there is absolutely no bass. I think I'm going to try to replace the amps with stock ones, but before i spend the money and do that, I'm trying to make sure i absolutely have to buy new amps. I've checked the fuses, #9, 27 and 32 and all those fuses are fine, but i dont know if there are any in line fuses or fuses in the amp. The amps are covered so it shouldn't be because something hit a wire loose. Is there anything else i can check?

Cliff notes:
No bass from rear woofers - my guess: amp blown
Checked fuses 9,27,32
Are there any fuses in the amp or any in-line fuses i can check?
Are there any other things to troubleshoot before i replace amp?

Ok, On my 91' LX I started what I call my "black out project", All black interior. everything was going smooth while removing the dash until I noticed loose wires coming from the headlight wire harness. Here lies the problem. I don't know where the wires go in the harness. the headlights work but i have no parking or tail lights.

Here's the million dollar question. Does anyone know where I can find a site that show the colors and where the wires go (diagram). Or does someone know how/where they go?

hey i own a 2000 mustang gt, Today i was working on it, installing a new stereo. Well there is a memory wire on the stero that needs a constant power, So me being stupid i left the battery connected and ran a wire from the battery positive through the firewall behind the dash into my memory wire, well i hit something back that the created a big spark, then a rapid clicking sound, followed by nothing. Hooked everything back up and the car wont start, no key noise, no crank, no lights, no headlights, no horn, no anything... Whenever you turn the key all you hear is one click and thats it. anyone have any suggestions as to whats broken? btw the battery has perfect voltage and is brand new so its not bad.

Ok Here Is The Deal I Got A 2002 Mustang Gt, It Had Sequential Tail Lights In It! The Wire Frayed Open And Grounded To The Metal In The Trunk, And Now The Brake Lights Dont Work And Turn Signals Or Hazards! So I Took It To Mustang Magic And They Replaced The Multifunction Switch, Flasher Relay, And Checked All The Fuses! Im Being Told The Only Thing That It Could Be Is The Brake Light Switch......... But That Doesnt Explain The Turn Signals Or Hazards!!!

Does Anybody Know What Is Going On Here?

I'm tryin to install some under dash lights and I got the shifter bezel off no problem, unplugged the power, and now I can't figure out how the hell to get the cigarette lighter out to put my switch in. There's 2 little clips that look like they need to be pushed in to let the lighter slip out but they just don't go far enough in to let it out. And I don't want to try to force it through and end up cracking the bezel. Help me out guys, how the fuck do I get this thing out?

I've been planning on doing a little accent lighting in my car. So my switches came in weeks ago and my lights (LED strips) just finally got here. The switches have 3 connectors (power, ground, lamp) and the lights have to wires (power, ground). I'm going to remove the cigarette lighter on the shifter bezel to put the switch in and take the power from there. But can I attach the ground wires from the lights to the switch on the same connector as the ground from the main power?
