Cam question

First off im looking into doing a full PI swap, but from what i've been hearing the most HP gain comes from the PI cams and the PI intake. So with that said, if i just get some good cams (better than the PI cams) and the PI intake how would that fair against the standard complete PI swap? More specifically, how much does the actual PI heads add.

The next question is what is the difference between stage I and stage II cams. I first looked at American muscle and they only have 2 sets of cams that will fit my car. Comp Cams Stage I Xtreme Energy XE262AH Camshafts (96-04 4.6L 2V) and Comp Cams Stage II Xtreme Energy XE270AH Camshafts (96-04 4.6L 2V). Are these good cams or are they overpriced and i can get the same quality/better cams elsewhere? These are between $520-$600.

Thanks

Hi there I just have a few electrical questions:

first id i wanted to upgrade to a higher output alternator is there any bolt on alternator i can get from another ford? I have a 1998 mustang gt

the other question i have is when i turn on my heater or a/c i seem to get a hug drag, as soon as i switch it on, i can understand the a/c because its driven by a compressor but, why the heater? i can see my voltage drop when i turn the heater on.

thanks for the info.

Coil Packs.... Cant choose...

I can tell my coil packs are going bad and im also getting prepped for dyno tuning. So its time to replace the ignition system. I already have e3 plugs.

Im going to purchase some 9mm wires off latemodelrestoration.com.

But here is the problem. I cant choose between the coil packs.

The Accel
Accel Super EDIS Coil Pack (96-98 GT/Cobra) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! (http://www.americanmuscle.com/accel-coilpack-9698gt.html)

The MSD
MSD 4.6L Coil Pack (96-98) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! (http://www.americanmuscle.com/msd-coilpack-9698.html)

Which is better?

I had 4.10 installed about 3 years ago. Months ago my car started kind of clumnking when down shifting just to a stop and sometimes when accelerating. Yesterday the overdrive light came on when I started the car and it was blinking. This is the only time it has done this.

I probably should have had my car looked at when it started but had other things to fix on the car which were more important.

F.Y.I I replaced the braked a two weeks ago.

I do see a small amount of fluid under the back of the car where the gears would be but is is a minimal amount.

What do you think the problem is.

I am having the car looked at tomorrow but just wanted your opinions.

I do have a heator core leak that has not been fixed yet but I dont think this is related. Maybe I am wrong.

Idle Surge Need Help!!!

well about 2 months ago my idle started rising up and down from 500 to 1000 when i stoped. It progresivly got worse until it got to the pont where id let of the gas and it would keep going like it was on cruise. so i figured it was the idle air control valve. i replaced that about a month ago and all was well for a couple weeks now its starting to do it again. someone suggested seafoam so i tried that and that worked for about 5 days. what should i do?
