New Classified Standards

Are great, but I feel we should be able to delete our own threads for members to see. This way, if one feels their thread is too cluttered with BS they can remove it and post a new one within the 6 hour period.

Idk, I just feel the new standards completely get rid of the "quick sale" aspect of forum classifieds. If you want a good example, look @ corral.

Problem is the "Quick Sale" is fine for the most part but some of the time are fly by night scammers...

All we ask is for the rules to be followed...There is a member of the staff online pretty much at all times and are always watching to approve or disapprove a classifieds sale...

Hence the reason I agree with the post limit......

Actually most of the forums I'm on have a 50 post min before you can even view the classifieds.

Check forums like pbnation.com, corral.net, etc.

Pbnation has a designated thread for "Scammers" and people who feel they are getting scammed. Shit, they have the most advanced B/S/T Forum I've ever seen.

There are ~25,000 members here, and ~ 455,000 on the nation.

What I'm trying to prove, is that there will always be a bad seed. But I don't see the purpose of establishing a rule where a mod has to see an ad before it's posted (takes forever, and appears that the site is nazi run....which it isn't). People need to take responsibility with transactions whether it's going through a third party or that person having ungodly amounts of feedback. There's nothing a forum can do to prevent scammers. They'll follow the post limit then proceed to con everyone in existence. You just have to make members aware.

not to sound like an ass, but follow the rules we have put in place to protect everyone from the buyer to the seller and the thread will be approved rather quickly.

if you follow the rules, you have nothing to worry about.

lol I'm not worrying about anything, but when someone is wanting to make a quick sale and the see "Please wait for a Mod/Admin to approve this thread" they're are going to say "peace".

I understand you're trying to prevent scams, but thread approval?

Not to sound like an ass but that is there forum...They are not ModdedMustangs...

This is how we are going to run it...It is working for us...

PBnation also have nearly 100 people on their staff there...

Its how it is set and if people fallow the rules they will be fine...

This is not EBAY...This is not Craigslist...Its simple as long as someone includes the requested INFO...If the info is there I dare you to show me a moderated thread that will sit there for anytime at all...

Myself and the other staff are on the forum several hours a day a piece...I know for a fact if the thread fallows the rules it will be approved...

yes, because peopel don't read the rules and we have to baby sit to the section to make sure the rules are followed. again, do it right and there won't be a problem. but until we can get people to read and follow the rules, that's how it goes.

I had to personally ask 7 people yesterday and 2 so far today to change the post to adhere to the rules.

lol The staff does not take constructive criticism well.

This is the feedback forum, and I am presenting feedback. Nothing more, nothing less. Thank you for pointing out that this is not PBN. Even if they did have 100 moderators is still comes out to a larger member:moderator ratio.

I didn't create this thread for an arguement, I'm trying to state a point from an AVERAGE members view point.

BTW that pbforum has 172 Staff Members...We have 23 total...

If the thread meets the rules then it will be approved...Simple as that...As for right now that is how it will be done...It is being done so that people will fallow the rules...Because SOME people seem to not read them or disreguard them when making a for sale post...

it won't be that way forever. the thread approval deal is just a short term deal until people get where we are going with this and what we are asking for.

it is just that we have sooooooo damn many for sale threads with no structure that even though the new rules are in place, people still pay them no mind. so once we can get the threads from last month far enough down on the page where people see the new threads with the new format, all should be well.

Im glad you did...

Some of our members dont read the rules very well either...

The only reason we had to put that into effect is because people would just disreguard the rules and post anyways...Thats what brought this on...That is the only reason we have to approve them now...

The rules have been there and in place since March 1st...But yet people still refuse to abide by them...

I disagree with this Change.
I cant Even post my Stuff for sale now.

I for one Dont like Posting my Name,Email/Phone number,Providence, etc.etc For Everyone to see.If someone wants to buy a Part From me Or wants to know where im located or how to get a hold of me they can PM Me and ask and i have no problem giving the information.I just dont want to flaunt it out there for everyone to see.Understand where im coming from?

What happend to Basic Rules

Example:

SELLERS:

Start For Sale threads with "FS:" or want to trade threads with "WTT:"
Tell People where you are located, it's easier for both you and your potential buyer.
Give a clear description of the item, and post pictures if possible.
Items must have an asking price, no feeler threads. Either it's for sale, or not.
Post only one thread for your item. Multiple posts will be deleted.

BUYERS:

Start Want to Buy threads with "WTB:" or want to trade threads with "WTT:"
Those interested please keep your post related to the items listed.
Do not take over another users thread. If you are selling something, start your own thread.
If you feel the poster is asking too much money, keep your complaining about the price to yourself. If you don't like the price, don't buy it.

A Little Feedback Please?

The reason your posts have not been approved is that you are not following the guidelines we set forth...

This is all we ask...

A. For Sale Post format - All items for sale will use the following format:
What is your name(first name & last initial)? :
What is your Email Address OR Contact PH #? :
What is your City? :
What is your Province? :
What is your Postal code? :
B. For Sale post pictures - All items for sale require a picture. This is for the buyers safety, include your screen name and the date the picture was taken IN THE PICTURE ON A PIECE OF PAPER.

We are tired of seeing people get scammed...

Hell your city is right there...And anyone that knows anything knows Orlando is in Florida...So all you need to do is put a first name last initial there...Then a email addy...Most of this info could be found by doing a search under your name...

I understand that you guys dont want to put this info out there...But the issue is that you need to see the flip side of the coin...

And for those of you that read the rules and just decide to post anyways without the correct format...You are the reason we have to have the posts approved FYI...

Correct this information can be found by looking it up or looking in my profile etc. So thats why i dont see the point in listing it out for everyone to see. Many people still have things posted for sale and are not following the rules.I just felt like i was getting singled out.
