You put in your vin number, and it gives you the factory installed options like engine, transmission, etc.

a vin is a vehicle identification number. but also, it holds information as well, as such:

location of final assembly
manufacturer
vehicle type
vehicle production number

i know what a vin is, just didn't know what a vin decoder did.. thanks for the info guys
