Yep! He asked me how long I expected the surgery to last. I told him if I could get 6 good years out of it, then I'd be happy. He said that was a realistic expectation. People think it's a "fix it and forget it" surgery but it really isn't like that.

I used to be VERY near sighted. Now I'm near sighted AND far sighted - will probably need bifocals at some point.

How hot is that?

It cost about $1500 an eye - and considering I was blind as a bat without glasses one minute and an hour later could see everything with great clarity an hour later - I was tickled pink! Still at about 20/20 now - he over corrected so I was better than 20/20 which made it last a little longer. I could potentially go back for another surgery but not sure. Loved that Doctor and he's moved away. Not sure I would trust anyone else.

Yep - that's Lasik - they laser a C shap into your cornea - lay it back to the side - laser correct your lens then put the flap back and it heals pretty quickly. I could see the room come into focus when he was lasering my lens. Went home and let the valium wear off - went out side and could see 6-7 miles away. Was the most incredible thing - next to having babies...

No you can't can you?

Well both were pretty amazing things - having kids of course is more amazing. But - lasik is much cheaper and less stressful in the long run.
