I am requesting to have this section removed from the site.



I don't think this section benefits this site in any way whatsoever.

1: Alot of guys here are under 18 yet have an account that says they are older (We have had children as young as 11 sign up here). Now I know that parents are responsible for what their children are allowed to do and see. However I feel that it is in poor taste for MM to facilitate that.

2: This is a mustang site. "The home of serious Ford Mustang enthusiasts". not a porn site.

3: Alot of people have their computer located in a central place in their house meaning people are always around them while they browse. I can't browse MM If my little brother is over or Leave a tech page open if I'm working on something that's in the garage.

4: Porn site=Virus heaven. This is not good for MM or it's members.


5: It's just not needed. It doesn't bring in new members. It doesn't keep members here. Do the members of MM want this site to be a hub for porn usernames and passwords? I understand sharing pics and stuff and we have a pm system to faccilitate that.

6: I know most of our current members don't mind the section, ignore it, or use it. However I feel that we lose members when They discover that the friendly mustang tech site they signed up on has a section completely devoted to pron (Or Nws images).

Now I understand it's a "private section" But I strongly feel it's one we could without.

Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way but I hope ther are other members who would prefer to keep porn seperate from MM.

I would appreciate this request being considered by the staff of MM

You make very valid points, although they tend to be obscured by the 11 years old seeing your avatar of you trying to look cool while smoking a cigarette. Porn just kills potential children in a random sock somewhere whereas smoking kills for real.

Meh, I see it like this.. I can obviously see the forum because I have access to it. I am not into the whole online porn deal so I just don't visit the forum at all. I don't think I have ever posted in there honestly. Frankly, if an 11 year old sees a pair of tits that he was looking to see, odds are they won't be to traumatized.

Good point, Google nudes are easier to get too then the brasspole. I remember seeing people ask where that section was cause they never found it.

Yes porn is easily accessible on the net. but if a child isn't looking for it and is just looking for mustng tech hit's new posts and it's popping up ya know?...idk...I'd just prefer it wasn't there.

Smooth you do make very valid points.

I tend to agree that we don't truly need that forum. I wasn't around for the discussions when it was added, so I do not know the reasoning for having it. However, this is a dominately male site so not sure you'll get a favorable response. I'll take it to the mod room for discussion....if it's not already in debate.

I look at the BP the same way I look at the Burnout Box and the Street Racing sections. No matter WHAT we do, people are going to want to post those things, so we can either have a section for that stuff and keep it contained, or we have members posting it in more public sections.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the avatars that are used; at least the Brass Pole I can stay out of while I browse at work, but avatars post everywhere their owner does. If we're gonna chant "Save the Children!", let's address the things that are much more likely to affect them.

So, while I respect what you're saying, and agree with the points you make, I would be opposed to removing it.

As far as the avatars go, I think a member should be able to turn off a selected members avatar instead of all or none.

If you were so concerned about the forum, you wouldn't be abusing our reputation system and pissing off members in the process.

I have no personal vested interest in the brass pole. I visit it now and again to make sure nothing over the top offensive is in there, and because I like boobs. But the forum was added as another way of getting and maintaining activity on the forum.

If you can prove to me it detracts from activity, that's a different story.

Other than that, again, if you don't like it, don't click it.

Eh i think it should be left alone. You need 100 posts to see it and the few guys who use it are happy.

Theres alot more to this forum then tech. Thats what makes MM different from any other forum.

I don't know what or how the discussion to have that section came up first but I can only imagine because there was a demand for it on the site....As Mamastang said this site is predominantly male so I can see where there could easily be a place for it here.

I agree with "if you don't like it stay away from it" And as for the underage stuff, there is much worse on the internet that is was easier to find. Hell I just finished watching I Love you Man on Cinemax and now there's softcore porn on......Its thursday @ 8????!!!

The big thing I would like to see changed is when someone clicks "New Posts" at the top of the screen, it doesn't bring up hits from the Brass Pole. I know myself and a lot of people check MM at work. It would be much easier if those results didn't come up.

Sometimes there are titles that are NOT obvious that they're BP material. One that comes to mind is the "Nascar" on. I was at work and almost clicked it but just happened to glance at the section.

By doing this it doesn't hinder anyone's ability to go find their pron. They can always click on the section and enter. But it would prevent potential problems for people.
