"NEW" button for threads

I am on another forum and when there is a new post in a thread, there is a little "NEW" ICON at the end of the thread subject. When you click this icon it takes you to the newest post since the last time you looked at the thread. This would help people who post multiple times on one thread and would take out having to scroll the entire page to find where you left off. If this capability is already avail please point me to where. Thank you.

There is a little arrow to the left of the title. Click on that and it will take you to the first unread post
