Few suggestions for the 5.0 section

I'm on multiple forums and when you browse through a few you see a few ideas that seem to work so I figured I'd bring them to the attention of you guys and see if you'd like to use them.

We get guys with the same questions over and over again and also get a lot of questions like "whats wrong with my car" with no technical info given about the car. I think one thing that would work would be a sticky for the newcomers with a cut and paste style form that you fill out that gives the basic info about your car and what your problem is. Something to the effect of

Year:

Engine size:

Heads:

Intake:

Cam/Cam specs:

Transmission:

Gear ratio:

MAF or Speed density:

Describe the problem you've been having and what, if anything, has been done to the car recently:

Be descriptive in your thread title and try to keep it to one question per thread so there's less confusion when trying to answer.

ect... There's a lot of specs and questions you can add/change to that and I'm willing to get something started if you guys want. This way when someone has a problem, the people who can help are more informed from the start.

I also think some of the info in the stickies is a bit outdated and not accurate anymore. And you can probably do a much more comprehensive list of mods and common issues for the car and keep them in one sticky with links to other threads to eliminate some of the clutter. I have my ideas and can point out specifics if you want, but I'm not any kind of authority on those cars so it's more of an opinion thing than anything.

I'm pretty bored today....

If you're having a problem with your car, cut and paste this form and fill in the blanks. This way the people who have the knowledge to help you will be better informed of what's been done to the car before diagnosing. Remember that it's tough to diagnose an issue over the internet because the person helping you is relying on your info to be accurate. It's also hard to know exactly what the issue sounds or feels like unless you're there with the car.

Some of this may not apply to your car so fill out everything you can otherwise. If you have stock parts for the category, just write "stock", if you don't know what you have write "unsure"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Year: (if you have a 302 based engine not in a foxbody mustang, list what kind of car and if it's EFI or carbureted)

Cubic inches: (if you're not on a stock bottom end, list your shortblock specs)

EFI or carb'd: (if carb'd, what carb)

Cam: (Either list what cam you have or the specs of the cam/ also list if it was degreed when installed or not)

Heads:

Lifters:

Rockers: (brand, if they're pedestal or stud, if stud what size stud)

Pushrods: (length, type, and if they were measured)

Springs: (What kind, single or dual, installed height, and spring rates)

Ignition system:

Voltage: (check voltage with a multimeter at idle and with the ignition off)

3G upgrade: yes/no

Timing: (have you set the timing and if so where is it at. Initial and total if you're spout out or carb'd)

Diagnostic Codes: (have you checked for codes and if so what ones do you have)

Tuner or chip:

Intake:

Throttle body:

Injector size:

Fuel pump:

MAF or Speed Density: (If MAF, write what MAF and what injector size it's calibrated to. Also indicate if converted from Speed Density to a MAF)

Intake Piping and filter:

Fuel Pressure Regulator

Power Adder: (supercharger, nitrous, turbo)

EGR: yes/no (if no how is it blocked)

Exhaust: (What headers, mid-pipe, mufflers and tail pipes and if you have cats or not)

Transmission:

Clutch/Flywheel: (if manual Trans.)

Flexplate/Convertor: (if auto Trans.)

Shifter:

Gears:

Suspension: (anything aftermarket that's been added including sub-frame connectors)

Other mods: (list anything else you've done to the car like underdrive pulleys, electric fans, FMU, battery relocation, meth kits, line lock, trans brake, delay boxes, manual steering rack, A/C delete, ect..)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Problem you're having: List in as much detail the problem you're having with the car. Try to be as specific as possible when you're describing the issue. Also mention what, if any, work has been done to the car recently prior to the problem starting. Include any pics or videos you can.
