forum changes wtf?
I don't know if its just me or if the forum changed, but wtf happened? The tech forums are below the general forum? I know its something stupid to complain about but I don't like it.

I don't get the general being over the tech either. Maybe the new members part, but not the whole general section.

Looks like all the classifieds got wiped out.

We're just trying something different guys, to help promote activity in the forum, to make the classifieds easier. Notice that the classifieds actually got easier to use... more straightforward layout... the classifieds form requirement is gone... just remember it's caveat emptor guys. And the forum holds no responsibility for transactions gone bad. Gather all the information you can before making a deal. There is not much we can do to rectify transactions gone awry, aside from pming a person and doing a little digging on their activity.
As for the forum layout changes, the change was made with the idea that as people enter the forum they were not seeing the new member sections and the other sections of this forum which have become increasingly active. So the idea is, that as Mustang fans, no matter where the tech is located, we will ALWAYS find that, and go to it. And if you really want to not look at the general forum section, you can collapse it if you wish, by clicking the orange button to the top right of that forum group, the one I have circled here for you: ![]() That way, all you will see is the Mustang Forums at the top, with The Marketplace underneath it. Trust me, we don't just make these decisions without thought, and as always, if things aren't working for the better, we are not adverse to making changes in the future. However, there are many members who have entered the forum, and when we ask them why they're not posting pictures, videos, clubhouse material, etc, in the appropriate section, the singular most common reply is "Wow... I never knew those sections existed... I just never scrolled down that far before. lol." Now, they will know the rest of our forum exists, and perhaps come to find that aside from our interest in tech and Mustangs, which even while we acknowledge a shift in interests here, is our main priority, that we have a lot of other interesting talk going on here, whether it's about bikes, or guns, or games, fitness, or whatever other random help you may have been looking for. And it will serve to hopefully keep our tech sections even MORE about tech- not less. Believe me, this is not some active or preconceived push to change this forum's direction. There are so many active and chatty people on the general forums, that this kind of just happened organically. But it absolutely does not mean that tech doesn't come first. We're only interested in keeping this forum alive and growing.

Makes sense. I just joined, so it'll be easier for me to get used to than some of the old timers.

Should make a v6 section for the classifieds as well. Instead of having people with a singleport posting parts in the 94-95 and 96-98 section... Just an idea. Also a poweradder section still wouldnt be too bad.

The important thing will be for y'all to make sure you properly name and spell your thread titles, and to properly spell, and itemize, the subject matter in your posts. That way, things will show up in the search function much better when people are looking for stuff, and when they're scrolling through the pages, they will be able to tell just from a thread title what the part is for, and/or spot what they're looking for. Example of a thread title: FS: 1996 Ford 3.8L V6 Split Port Cylinder Heads. Obviously, you list that under the appropriate '1996-1998 Mustang Parts' forum... then when someone is scrolling pages, they can easily see what they're looking for, or, if they go to that forum section and then utilize the search function, it will find that thread quickly even if it's pages back.

Could we get a happy middle and have some way to setup what forums/subforums we see? There are only a few sections that I look at regularly and it would be nice if I could pick to just look at those by default.

Did you see the picture I put up a few posts back? You can collapse entire forum sections as you wish.

All threads were dumped in the changeover. Feel free to make a new thread in the appropriate section, and please read the new rules in there.

Its just me ranting I guess. I have been here a few years and its been a great time. I really like this place and id really hate to see it go bad, or at least stray away from what the name suggests it should be.
