MM wouldn't be MM without the post whoring. Given it can be a little excessive, but the fact people have the chance to just chat/joke around/develop social relationships with other members is what makes this site so great. It's also why we have so many regular users, and so much great advice on this forum. Honestly if MM was moderated to the point where there were no extras, no sexy avis, whatever, it just wouldn't be MM. And you just got here, so erm leave if you don't like it? MM members are one hell of a dysfunctional family, but that's the way its supposed to be

I only read the 5.0 forum so I can not speak for the others. There are many threads where a few people that know each other just go on and on about things that have nothing to do with the topics and honestly probably have nothing to do with anyone but that small group that is replying to each other. There arePMs and the clubhouse where that stuff should be going on. Do these actions hinder the effectiveness of the tech forums? I don't know. When I ask a question I weed through any crap replies to look for answers and when I want to offer an answer, I post it at the end of the crap and assume the asker will find it.
For those that like to just "browse" the forums, the extra crap makes the entire thread useless.

As for the offensive avatars and signatures? Although I do not find anything offensive, I got tired of the obnoxious ones that are too flashy and move and also the huge picture based sigs that distract from the forum so I turned both of those options off. No problem there.
One thing I've found to effective in other forums is not showing the post count of the authors. This is a major factor for people posting useless off topic information. Quality is far better then quantity. The user revolt here would not make that option possible though.

In short, there is PM and the clubhouse for general smack and off topic, it should stay in those venues. If I want to join in, I'll go to the clubhouse.

I help people learn how to put up pictures, hyperlinks, and I will make signatures for people. I defy you to say that I merely whore up every thread. I always respond with useful information, and I never whore up a thread where someone is asking for legitimate information and has not received said information yet.

For sure I whore it up along the way, and make dumbass jokes. But I do this for a reason. It's because I love this forum, and I am doing my part to help keep people smiling, and keep the place active.

I think you're taking the jokes too seriously, personally, whateveryournicknameis. lol

I would agree with you, but honestly everyone here has a car.....which means there older. Therefor they arn't really so immature they need heavy moderation. Let guys be guys....we all need to dick around sometimes. It's a factor forums need to keep members coming back. When I see a bunch of i installed this like this. Or Look at this modification. That gets old when I see someones random ass post about starting a rake forum it keeps things fun on here.

Or the post that is 2 above me...lol just lightend my mood a bit.
