Can we weed out the threads in the Classifieds section if they are no longer active? If the seller hasn't posted, either close the thread or report the sale? It's tough to look for something when you can't tell if the item is still available or not. Even worse of the seller doesn't update his thread.

It should be the seller's responsibility to let you know an item is sold. We don't take an active role in monitoring the transactions here, but I will update http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...assifieds.html

Couldnt something be set in MMs system so after say 90 days with no update that it self deletes?

we will not delete threads or any content. we don't want breaks in crawlability of the site. i will see what is possible for self-closing or any features that could help in this area.

expect, however, for nothing to happen except us encouraging sellers to notify potential buyers of a concluded sale. we aren't ebay, autotrader, etc.

Would it be possible to have a "Sold" button? I know some threads you gotta run through 5 pages before you see its sold. If there was somethin the seller could click when its sold and have a SOLD put in the first post it would help.

I will look into features for classifieds on vBulletin.

How about just making the title of the thread editable? Or, instead of the usual 15-minute window of editability, allow the thread starter to be able to edit his threads content, including the title? Something that will allow the word SOLD to be added to the end of the thread's title.
