Vinyls and Detailing help

I have some vinyls (black out panel and hood decal) that I will be applying in the near future.

Should I do a full detail on my car before installing them? Or would the detailing stuff interfere with the vinyl sticking properly?

Should I detail it after? Because I thought you weren't supposed to get any of the detailing supplies on vinyls?

Any and all recommendations are helpful. Thanks ahead of time!

I would not apply wax where you plan on applying the vinyls. Before you apply make sure and do a IPA wipdown of the area (50/50 mix of alcohol and water). After applying go about your normal detailing, paint products will not hurt vinyl. I wax mine everytime I do my car. Just do not apply a machine to them.
