Washing

I have dirt spots on my car that won't come clean no matter how many times i wash them. they always show up lighter than the paint, and I'm assuming it's dirt but I'm not entirely sure. any suggestions?

it's not dirt its most likely sun fade on the clear coat.....

u can either A) get it buffed out proffesionally
B) attempt to do it urself with some good old elbow greese
or C) deal with it

Claybar might do the trick.

Sounds more like clearcoat like Rags said than something clay will take out but give it a shot.

It will help but you must follow it up with a wax. What it does is take everything off your paint ecluding deep dirt, brake dust, and wax. Not waxing also can result in clearcoat failure.

give your car a good wash, claybar the entire car, then wash again, then wax

then repeat the wash and wax process next week. remember to give it a good polish.... it should take away some of the sun fade. my paint is harsh from the winter but it always cleans right up

I use magic clay it takes off everything scuffs, sap, watermarks you name it. Just follow the directions and wax the car when you are done.
