Weems we'd need pictures to classify it as etching. It's possible but we don't know that. Anyways, you have a GT500 but you can't afford to spend $500+ on a detail to fix it?

Chances are if it sat in 90+ degree weather for WEEKS getting sprayed by a sprinkler every day, it is etched.

One of my buddies run's a detailing shop. And when he waxed my black car I hate. He used windex to take off the wax...he said it added in the shine. He was right. He did half the hold in the old way (no windex) and the other side(in windex). It was 100 times better. Just my I might be wrong I'm just a novice. Just thought I would throw it in.

might i just say...welcome to the wonderful world of car detailing....once you get hooked fixing the little defects you'll want to shine it up all the time...to keep from etching i wipe down the car every other night w/ quick shine and a terry cloth...hope you can find a detailer that will work w/ you for a good price...

I'd never use windex on fucking paint. The amonia...

Yeah, he's a real pro in my book... Do it the right fucking way and use a buffer. If he's stripping the previous wax he should be using isopropyl alcohol or dawn soap. If he's trying to see if the polishes he used did right, he should, again, be using IPA...

I would not take it to that guy again personally.
