Cleaning the V6 engine

Ok so i have a 02 v6 mustang i tried cleaning my motor i heated it up sparyed a little water on it, then put the degreaser on and let it sit with the hood closed for a bit, hosed off, then sprayed black tire foam on the rubber stuff and black areas. The problem i had is that the intake manifolds on my car are like a weird metal and they are almost all oxidized it looks like and they wont come clean they still have the oxidized look is there anyway besides painting them that i can get them to look sharp becuase it is taking away from my clean engine. I also noticed it on my brackets for the pulleys and the alternator.

It happens, you got too strong of a chemical on the aluminum and it causes oxidation.
