Stripes


My Mustang has stripes on it so I was wondering with doing a detailing job on it like in Piggy's thread is there anything special I should watch out for when clay barring, glazing, waxing and etc. around the stripes.

no problem with any of it...when i had white vinyls i had no problems at all..go ahead and treat them like the regular paint...

It depends. Personally, if it's vinyl and they look fine (no swirls) then I wouldn't touch them with a buffer. No need. Unless they have swirls (which I HIGHLY doubt that they will) then I say try to work around them, but it will not be the end of all things to come if you touch them with your PC there would just be no need to waste product on something that won't really see any results.

the only thing i hate about vinyls is the eventual sun damage and products don't seem to help...that's why I got rid of mine and haven't done it again...

Thanks guys. Yeah I had no plans on hitting the strips on purpose, I just wanted to make sure how much I needed to worry about avoiding them. Good to hear it is not that big of a deal. Not pleased to hear about the sun damage down the road but we will see. I like them but I can see them being a problem later.
