Will this work? Ultra Finish + Optimum Spray Wax

While im still new to the detailing world (the right way!), after hours and hours of research and forum browsing, I came across 2 products (well more than 2! but in this thread, we will focus on these two) that were not only recommended, but people SWEAR by them!

for instance.... TheUNZippee! swears by Ultra Finish. By what im reading it is not a wax.

Now, if I simply used Ultra Finish, Do I really need to worry about waxing my car at any point; like is that what Ultra Finish will substitute for me? the same affect of having that look, without waxing? Or am I not understanding it very well!?

Either way, if there is any waxing involved, I reallllllllllly wanted to try out some sort of spray wax since it is already RIDICULOUSLY HOT and HUMID in South FL and I am NOT going to spend HOURS and HOURS outside waxing the car (as much as I would like to) at this time of year already.

I posted a spray wax in a previous thread that ppl told me to run away from. Took their advice! But as I was researching on those Autogeek, obsessive detail, type of websites, I came across Optimun Spray Wax. Forum after forum of ppl that just love this stuff. So I was wondering if I really need BOTH these products? IF I don't, which one should I steer towards? I'm thinking Ultra Finish. However, If it doesnt hurt to use both, which one should I apply first?

In my mind, Ultra Finish, and then The Optimun Spray Wax.
Please Help! Thank ya!

NOTE: My Car has never been waxed before with the exception of a small part on the trunk due to a scratch.

I have never used or heard of Ultra Finish. It is a polish, so yes you will need to wax after using it. In all honesty, using a polish without a buffer is a very time consuming and hard job that will not give you the results you want.

Spray waxes are ok, but to be honest, its not gonna help you in hot humid weather. I live in south MS, so I know a thing or two about humid. Think about it... you really think a spray liquid is going to take longer to dry than a paste?

In my opinion, if you just want a decent wax job go with either Meguire's Gold Class liquid/paste wax or Poorboy's World Natty's Blue paste wax.

Personally I have started using a sealant made by Blackfire, but its on the pricy side.

I am the second Ultra Finish user on the grassy knoll. Actually, I'm the first. lol

Information:
CAR POLISH,ULTRA FINISH FOR CAR ENTHUSIASTS WHO DEMAND PERFECTION,A TRUE MULTI USE ONE STEP POLISH

* The time-tested, one-step surface care process that requires no additional products to clean, shine, and protect your car's paint and many other surfaces. Over time, it conditions those surfaces so that minimal time and effort is needed to keep your car looking at its best. Does not contain wax or silicon.

* Today's cars are coated with clearcoat which serves as a protector and is the reason why a new car has a brilliant shine. The paint which is under this clearcoat with its UV protection prevents the paint from fading. Clearcoat resembles plastic similar to a plastic lens. Have you ever seen someone wax their glasses? So why would you wax a cars surface? The surface should be smooth and free of all build ups so as to see through the clearcoat like a lens to expose the beauty of the paint color.

ULTRA FINISH AUTO POLISH does two things:
1) It makes the surface smooth as a lens
2) It cleans the surface free of contaminants without coating that surface

Use Ultra Finish On

* ClearCoat (CLICK ON RED)
* or Any Type of Paint
* Chrome
* Plastic
* Fiberglas

Glass, Including Windshields

* Hard Rubber
* Plexiglas
* SILVER
SOFT ALUM
and more!

Ultra Finish Removes:

* Oxidation from laquer and enamel (CLICK ON RED)
* Sun Fade
* Tar
* Bugs
* Old Wax
* Surface Scratches
* Swirls and Haze
* Water Marks
* Over-spray
* Grease
* Buff Marks
* Tree Sap
* Scuff Marks
* and More!

=================================
Those are the claims made by Ultra Finish.

Now, before I go into my spiel about this product, let me clarify a couple of things here.

1. Every spring, I take my car to a professional detailer to have my paint touched up. Whatever needs done, gets done. Clay, buff, glaze, whatever he wants to do, I have him do. This costs me about a hundie each spring. So yes, this is a large part of how I keep my paint up.

2. I am not saying that this product is better, worse, or equal to what the experienced detailing aficionados here use and do. What the guys in this section suggest is always amazing, and always works.

I use the Ultra Finish for two big reasons:

It's fast, easy, it works, and it can be used on almost any surface. It does not need to be put on, allowed to dry to a haze, and then buffed off. You wipe it on using a clean rag of your choice, in a back and forth motion,and keep rubbing till it's gone. Keep turning the rag to a clean spot, and using this method, you can do the entire car in almost no time at all.

I've been using this product now for going on 4 summers or so. I stumbled across it by accident at the Carlisle All Ford Nationals in 2007, took a small sample bottle home, and forgot about it.

Then by chance, my friend was lamenting the state of the paint on his black Harley Softtail, and I remembered I had this Ultra Finish sample bottle in my car's trunk. I took it out, used it on an inconspicuous area under the seat, and was so immediately impressed at how it removed oxidation, tar, minor scratches, swirls, and the like,that I did his entire bike. Then I did my entire car. With one, tiny, weeny, sample bottle. Then I did the car again.

I immediately went online and ordered two cans.

And it lasts. And can be used in direct sunlight.

So what can I say? All the tried and true methods of clay barring, buffing, waxing, etc, are still great ways to go. And of course, nothing beats a proper buffer and multiple step paint care system, particularly if your paint is in rough shape and full of swirls and the like.

But if you're like me, and have very limited time, and a black fucking motherfucking paint job (just kidding black, I wuv you ), the Ultra Finish is an amazing product.

I don't know how you would compare it to other products & systems, or what you would think of the results, but I can tell you I get constant compliments on my paint.

This past Tuesday, a fellow driver was commenting on "How many coats of wax do you put on this thing? It looks amazing!"....

And I told him what I will tell you now. So far this spring, I have not yet so much as put a wash mitt to my car. It has done nothing but gone through a touchless car wash at my local Esso. Nothing. Not a hand wash, not a polish, not my yearly spring detailer guy, no clay, not a spray mist detail, nothing.

Just the lasting effect of the Ultra Finish polish job I did last fall in October before putting the car away for winter.

And I drive this thin 500 miles a week, every week, on the highway.

So judge for yourself. hard to get exact opinions from pictures, but hey. It is what it is. I LOVE this product for my lifestyle.

These are random pictures, as I haven't even taken a formal shoot this year, as I haven't even hand washed the car once as I said, this spring.

These are from last fall and spring, respectively.

Never heard of ultra finish, but from what I have read in here it seems like it is more of a synthetic wax or sealant than a polish. Much like the Zaino products are not true polishes, meaning they aren't abrasive.

If you wanna stay cheap and OTC the NXT 2.0 is good.. but believe me.. once I did a real polish, glaze, & wax it was no comparison.. and I did mine by hand.. with a DA it's gonna be even better..
