Anything i can do to protect my car from hail?

Ive always loved thunderstorms but now that i have a mustang, every time there is a bad one im paranoid of hail. I cant put my car in the garage cause my parents durango and stupid hyundai go in there so im wondering what i can do, if anything, to protect my car from hail. I was thinking of some sort of padded cover or something but it would all have to be waterproof too. Im just wondering if you guys have any ideas.

I have a nice waterproof padded cover that I put over my car when I'm at home and it is going to storm, or I won't be driving it for a while.

But I guess you could go to a parking garage and wait it out, or something.

Depending on the size of it will determine if it can be protected a car cover will defiantly help, but I cant tell you it will protect you from anything larger than an ice cube. Just be insured, yet liability wont cover it at least mine wont (Allstate), it has to be full coverage or some other policy option. I am not going to pay for full coverage since I bought my GT all cash yet I have uninsured motorist so it sort of helps but not for hail. This is the only car cover I would buy its made for our years and models. Its waterproof and lot of other things as well read the description

How much was your cover and how much could it stop? I might be spending next summer with my aunt and uncle in colorado and they just had a ton of damage done by golfball sized hail so do you think it could stop that?

^ that was in response to v606er. I do have full coverage, i would just like something more to rely on. That cover seems nice too. I could use it to protect my car from the dangers of a college parking lot.

get a tarp right then take like a couple old bed comforters and staple them to the underside that way the tarp is water proof and youll have a good 3-5 inches of padded protection on your stang

It was around 200$. I think it would definitely stop golf ball sized hail. It's thick.

Yeah I thought about bringing it to college, but that is really just a big hassle, and parking intelligently is really your best bet to protect your car in the parking lot. Also, a covered car draws a lot of attention, so that could just provoke trouble.
