Thoese of your who have leather. What do you use to clean/condition them? The Meg's 2 step seems like a cheap solution. However I a little bit left of a sample of Wolfgang Conditioner and I LOVE the smell. The cleaner/condition together would be $46 shipped.
So... what do you use and what do you like/dislike about it?
I really like the smell of the wolfgang. Its smells like... leather. So it will aid in that as well. I just don't like the $40 price tag of the kit compared to the $17 price tag of the Meguire's kit.
I got some extra money that I could spend on it... but unsure if I want to or not Lol.
I have never tried the wolfgang. I have heard a LOT of good things about leatherique. I use the Mothers cleaner and seperate conditioner once a month. Then I use the Meguairs wipes every wash. Cheap and easy.
I have a good portion of my sample 4oz of Wolfgang Conditioner left and Yelo is suppose to be sending me a sample of the Meg's Cleaner (I bought his seats). I think I will just wait and use that for now. This sample of Wolfgang should last awhile since I am only doing two seats.
I could always just buy the Meg's Cleaner and order the Wolfgang conditioner. I took a wiff of the Wolfgang sample I have and I just LOVE that smell. I realllly want the inside of my car to smell like leather... hope this conditioner and these seats do the trick. All I need now is black carpet in the car and I will be done with the interior.
Or leatherique its just expensive, but I have heard good things about the CG combo also restores that new leather smell you want Thats what im going to be getting but in the gal instead they are still cheaper than leatherique even in the gallon sizes.
I tried some stuff by Bluemagic because I didn't want to wait for a mail order of something better. It seems to work nice on the leather, but damn does that stuff smell bad. Two or three days after I use it the car smells like something just got burnt then the fire put out with scummy pond water. This stuff is good as long as you and your passengers have no sense of smell.
The foam applicator works ok with the Megs, but they absorb a lot so you end up wasting a lot and getting it alll over your hads..
with the cleaner (part 1) I apply it with the applicator, let it sit for a min, the rub it clean with a cheap MF... on the real dirty parts you may have to use a little more of stage 1, then once they whole seats are done with stage 1, I go over them with stage 2 (conditioner), just rubbing it in with applicator or MF... once that's done Megs Rich Leather Protectant (which smells great)
I will admit one of the best things about having microsuede (besides not sliding around) is the smell of 303 High Tech Fabric Protectant :drool
zat a brush is not necessary for the CG cleaner or the conditioner...just work the cleaner in with an applicator and let it sit for a minute or 2 then wipe it with a damp rag...if you feel the need to use a brush get a horse hair brush or something similar
personally i would only drop the coin on leatherique if it were to be used on REAL leather..and not some vinyl/composite/pleather material like our cars...it also takes hours for an application. maybe some higher end models like the cobra have real leather on all portions of the seat but i am doubtful...i am not saying the leatherique would not be effective on vinyl or composites and im not bashing it in any way
if anything the only leather would be on the seat portion, just so they can keep the 'leather seat' or 'leather seating areas' statement legit...not the sides headrest or back...if you feel the underside of the material and it has fabric then its a good indicator that its not leather...also most genuine leather is unfinished (no plastic clear coating) but some can still be coated
fake leather is still a porous surface so you can condition it but the effects are debateable
my 2¢
