Original Paint Condition

I received a compliment on my 01 Performance Red GT yesterday. The person driving a 08 Yellow mustang GT asked if I had my car painted recently,my reply was no,it's original. I was wondering how everyone's paint is holding up. Any repaints, factory defects horror stories, etc.

Moderator, can we move this to the clubhouse??? Thanks.

Only thing that has been repainted on mine is the Hood, front bumper, driver fender, and spoiler.

Bein fully polished helps the apperance as well tho. Everything but these parts are original 7 year old paint.

mine is Average, not the best,

their are few painted areas which can found when looking closely and that's it, Im trying to figure out how to improve those areas... I guess polishing would do the magic...

Mine is still doing well, the only bad spot on the car is the front facia, mostly from the highways.. A few stone chips here and there.. But I do a claybar then re-polish, and she looks like new.. I notice the minor scratches more than others..lol. But I do get asked what year it is often, and when I tell them, they are amazed!!

I have a few rock chips I am trying to do something with. I do not want to spray the entire front. I saw a techinque once where a credit card is used to fill the paint in the chip, and makes the paint level therefore less noticable.

The langka system all you really need is the blob eliminator and some factory touch up paint and an old clean t-shirt, it come with a plastic card. I have it but have yet to use it, so I cant vouch for it but it seems like it will work.

LANGKA The Blob Eliminator: Eliminate touch-up paint bubbles with Langka Blob Eliminator! scratch repair kit, auto repair kit, paint chip repair

Mine is nearly showroom mint except for some yellowing on the rear bumper cover around the tailpipes. I had some rock chips, but they were pretty easy to fill with paint, wetsand flat, and polish.

I'm surprised it looks as good as it does after 11 years. Ford factory paint is some really good stuff.

I agree,I have had lot of mustangs and ford products and the paint used recently is really good on these cars. I wish my explorer was not rusting on the top. pia!

The 11 year Rio red on mine looks really good. I haven't done anything special other than wash/wax and I'm really happy with the shine.

Original paint and when mine is polished up, looks like it has just been sprayed. Get the nasty spider webbing and swirl marks from not caring when drying in a hurry but thats why God invented the PC for us weekend detailers!!! Stereo install manager at Best Buy asked me what year my Stang was and I told him. He was like dang man, thats to clean!
