What did you use to polish it man also. Put a coat of protection over it Duragloss 105 can be purchased at Napa or Carquest it will hold up.

took it down first with a 120 flapper wheele on a 4 1/2'' grinder. then the rest was sanded by hand. 40,60,80,120,150 wet,180, 220wet,320, then the rest were wet 400,600,800,1000,1500,and 2000. then i used a mothers ''headlight'' powerball and the compound actually for plasatic lenses. works great, but it's a whole lot of work! danny, wy would it not hold up? its a polished hunk of allum.? not like its going to rust. and its slick as a babys ass, so not alot going to stick to it.

Because aluminum turns when it's uncoated and exposed to the elements. Thing with aluminum is the more you rub it the shinier it gets, only negative is you have to constantly maintain it. I have guys come to me with uncoated aluminum wheels wanting me to bring them back to life and I tell them they would be better off buying new wheels because what I would charge to polish them they could come close to buying new ones. Not sure why anyone would want aluminum wheels. It can't be for appearance because they are too hard to maintain.

JL answered the question for me man I would put a coat of protection on it. Collinite 845 which is made for high temp situations will keep it protected. Its cheap and lasts a long time and you can put a coat of it on the mustang itself for months of protection.

Things looks phenomenal. Def seal it with something. I had some uncoated aluminum go bad on me. When I say go bad, the oxidation just got horrible. PITA to keep shiny.

right on! thanks for the replys .it turned out better than i expected. it just kinda evolved while i've been home with no work(roofing contractor and crappy weather= no money)my 91 vert is med titanium so the charcoal metalic paint i used matches pretty well. i'll defenetly look into collinite 845 or a simalar prouduct. i put to much work into it to let it go to shit. i've only had my fox since oct. but i've jumped in with both feet. since i'm trying to go in the direction of D.I.Y./JUNKYARD/BUDGET build i want to get the maximun out of my mods. i want to stay with a gt 40 budget top end so i want to take it past the usual just bolt it on and it will do till i can order a ''better/differant'' one.i ported the mouth of the upper to 85mm to accept up to a 80 mm EGR spacer (plenty big) and did some smoothing inside there. this woint be going on till i port the lower intake. i need to get some puddle welding done first, and although i have a stick&mig and a plasma cutter i have no tig exp. or the equip. so i'm going to drop off one of the two lowers to a weld shop before i start the port work. alot of guys may say the work is'nt worth it with the other intakes out their, but i got more time & skill than i have money, besides ""IT'S NOT WHAT YOU BUY,BUT WHAT YOU BUILD""
