Buffing windshield?

I heard that this can be done. My windshield has swirls in the glass and they're rather annoying to look at. If it can be buffed, what would zi use?

I have used M105 on the Makita 9227C to remove water spots but thats it, I never actually was trying to do more than that so I really wouldnt know. I know AG sells a glass polishing kit but I dont know how well it works.

I have had to polish scratches out of high end glass to avoid replacing and it can be done. You will need to buy a polishing kit for sure. It will come with the correct paste/compound and the polishing can be done with a high speed drill.

You must be VERY careful though, as youvan create a concave area on the glass that can be noticeable. All I can tell you is take your time an don't get carried away.

This is one of those things that may be better to have a pro do, but a lot of them won't do it due to the risk of over polishing and deforming the glass.

Caswell Inc. - Glass Polishing Kit

This is what I would use...it is very effective

Simply use your buffer and a polish/compound depending on the severity of the swirls. It will work just fine, I have done it countless times.

Up the pressure and slow down on your passes, put your PCXP to speed 6 and go to town. If you still dont get the desired results, try some Surbuf pads with M105 on your PCXP. Oh by the way I have some Surbufs that were used only once that I bought less than a month ago for sale LOL I am suggesting this because you said you have bad etched water spotting, I wouldnt know about glass correction though since I only have ever tried to remove water spotting man and I know this will work for it.
