Any Experience with Shop Vacs?

I was just wondering what y'all thought of using a shop vac, say 6.5hp, to suck water out of carpets, with the right nozzle. I know a bissle green machine can do it, so I'm assuming a shop vac could do it to?

I'm probably gonna pick up a steamer and a shop vac to help get deep set debris out of carpets.

I have that one..I am pleased with it and it has a good amount of suction. I do like the wireless control so when i am in the car I can turn it o and off without having to get in and out a bunch of times

I just recently came across a Vacmaster one. Its $120 on Amazon and I found it at a flea markets, brand new with the wrapping, for $60. Its very similar to that Kobalt, and I love it.

The hose is short however. I need to buy an extension. Its wall mountable, which is a big plus.

I like the 4 gallon portable by Rigid...but any of the reputable 5hp wet/dry are pretty comparable

So will they do a good job of vacuuming caprets and such? What extensions do you use with it for carpets?

I called a few Lowe's in my area and they didn't have the Kobalt. Ended up going to Home Depot and picking up this 5hp Rigid Model for $69, and this kit of brushes they had, that came with a thinner, longer, and more flexible hose for $30. Oh, and just wanted to share my order that came in from Phil today, also

Used it for the first time tonight, and I'm really happy with it. This thing really moves some air on the blower mode. And paired with the crevice attachment it can focus that air for some serious drying power. Granted it didn't do super well on the DD that I washed tonight, but that because that car's paint is in horrible shape and doesn't bead or sheet water at all. The windshield that I just polished and sealed about 2 months ago was dried with ease. It's also really lightweight, so I can carry it around the car with me.

lol I went through my 500ml bottle of it in about 4-5 months, and it is WAY more economical to buy it in the 5L bottle, so I figured why not?

Also used the Uber spoke brush, uber wash sponge, and Uber Super Drying Towel tonight. Super happy with all of them Really excited to try out the Victoria's Red Concours wax, this is the softest wax I've ever felt, its so smooth.
