I really need to get a 3" backing plate and pads. I'm always having trouble with tight spaces.

What does that positector thing do?

It measures the thickness of the paint, which gives the detailer an idea of how aggressive they can be with compounding, without wearing down the clear coat.

I picked up the Gloss it 3" on from Aaron from Detail Addiction but its for rotary use only. I know Phil carries his Uber 3" backing plate that can be use on both Rotary and D/A. I had it and it was a solid little backing plate that helped me out alot on corrections.

I bought the backing plate from Danny, it works great. Perfect for wheels, headlights, other little stuff.
