How to get rid of these?

I have little imprints in my paint that look like water spots but when I dry it all down with the absorber in certain spots there are water spots no matter what I do they remain, anybody have a solution to these? I was going to try to compound them out with a buffer... but wanted to get a little insight first.

Here's a picture of a spot they're at

Did you try wash & wax??? If not try cleaning using Meguiars wash & wax cleaners, and then buff it. The marks should come out. Btw, are you sure it's just water marks though????

Have you tried putting a little wax on the spots, and lightly buffing them out????

I waxed my whole car but not with a buffer just with the application pad and they still remain so I was going to get a buffer and some compound and try to get them out...

Well try that and let me know if it worked, because my friend had a similar problem on his car. I can't remember what he used though, but I can ask him, and maybe in the meantime someone else might have more info for ya. Good luck bro!

MEGUIARS CLEANER WAX

same thing happens with my black car all the time. meguiars cleaner wax will take them right off. if you want to spend a good 6 hours and get your car looking EXCELLENT, go with the meguiars 3 step system: paint cleaner, polish, and wax. your car will look amazing! but i warn you dont get the paint cleaner on your mirrors or any other plastic material because it wont come off without a battle. and the 3 step system takes a better part of a day to do a good job. i'd just go with the cleaner wax

Have you tried clay barring and then buffing the car out?

take it to a body shop and ask them to wet sand and re-finish the hood for you, it looks like a chemical spot.

I have those spots on my car too and I used a fix I found on line. After you wash your car pour out the soapy water and make a small amount of fresh soapy water and add a small amount of vinagar to it. Wash just the areas with the spots and rinse. DO NOT let that spot air/heat dry. Make sure you wipe it dry. The spots will come right off. If I remember correctly the article said they were oxyidation spots from using hard water to wash your car. I tried it and it worked for me, except I washed my entire car with it and it was a PITA to dry. LOL

After typing that out I found the link.

This may sound funny but using ATF on a cloth then wiping it with a clean cloth can help. It takes off oxidation and impurities out of your clear coat kinda like the clay bars. My uncle works for ford and told showed me how to do it and it worked great. You just have to wash it with soap and water after too then wax again.

Clay bar it with the megs clay bar kit 20 buck at walmart or if you want to really get it good get some clay majic clay and use some Megs M34 or Chemical brothers synthetic Quick detailer for lube. Then hit it with some megs M105 orange pad then M205 white pad using a PC7424XP using the kevin brown method or a rotary buffer makita or dewalt or flex using a wool pad, if you have one if not use the CCS cutting hand pads they sell off of autogeek for like $10 or detailed image. Then follow with a sealant or a wax.

First.... Holy old thread revival...

Second... there some good info in here, but a lot of non-good.

Simply put, thats a hard water spot that either needs to be removed by a clay bar or a DA Buffer using a Compound & Polish or just a Polish followed by a sealant and/or wax.

Not that the OP is even going to read this 3 years later... buy yeah...

....fail
