You can polish and not seal/wax, but I can't see why you would - even a cheaper OTC meguiars wax is better than nothing. You should be able to clean your pads in warm water and dish soap, just make sure the dish soap is completely rinsed out and the pads are spun-dry before using them again.

To clean the microfiber pad I suggest getting some Dawn soap and washing with warm/semi hot water in you kitchen sink then rinse out all the soap and then let them ait dry inside before using them again. Watch this video from Meguiars before going at it. Also if your going to get it done pick up some Meguiars #21 Sealant from your local autoparts store or if you can find it get some Autoglym High Definition wax at Walmart or Pepboys it leaves an amazing finish on a corrected vehicle I like it just as much as Blackfire Wet Diamond and Menzerna Powerlock I dont suggest you leave you finish un protected especially after all that work. You can always do a APC or Dawn wash or Full Strength IPA wipe down twice to strip the protection once you get BFWD in. But if your going to follow up with D300 which is the Finishing Wax it has sealant properties in it which leave behind protection, its not that great but hey if if you dont want to spend $ I guess you can do this.

Also it seem like alot of members are forgetting that you can get Blackfire products at Detailed Image as well. You will have to buy BFWD and BFMS separately but hey BFMS is still at $59.99 here.

i just wanted to get a feel for the pc and i mean i used like barely any products lol i did just my rear quarter on my driver's side and used the correction compound and the wax that came in the kit and i must say already got rid of all those nasty lines in the clear i was impressed! i put some better 3M wax over it just to protect it for now until i get blackfire to seal it in for good and i cleaned pads with dish soap and they are just slightly faded but are still soft and hanging up inside the house now almost dry! cant wait to get some blackfire and do the whole car after winter!!

No Blackfire product seals anything for good man it just provides protection for maybe 6 months even then you will have slight swirling back in the paint. If you want something to really seal the work you did your going to need a nano coating like Optimum V2, Wolf Chemicals Bodywrap, Aquartz, or Cquartz. These will seal the work and helping prevent further swirls and light scratches, Optimum V2 being the permeant solution you then only need poliseal to freshen the coating up but it will be protected for the life of the vehicle unless you get in an accident of course or compound it off.

Well when I had Cquartz on my GT it sucked I got hard water spot etching on the first rain fall. But Avi the owner of Carpro informed me that it has been reformulated and they supposably resolved that issue. The version I got was about a year ago. I will say I rather use Carpro Reload than Blackfire Wet Diamond or Menzerna Powerlock it provides far better protection and looks better, the water beading and sheeting is just insane. Not only that you apply it like a quick detailer only about ten sprays are needed to an entire mustang. I use it on my glass and I dont even use wipers in the rain LOL I applied the last 15ml of Cquartz on my girlfriends Scion TC a few day before christmas and have applied Reload to it once so I will keep you guys posted on how it works out for her, since I am the one who maintains it for her.

One big tip I have with polishing is to make sure to rinse out the pads after 2-3 passes. This does wonders to keep the pads from getting clogged with polish. Take the pad off the PC, spray it down with a strong stream of water, then stick it on the pc and spin dry it.

This will also reduce dusting considerably.

As for fading on the color of the pads, that is pretty normal. After a few uses they will start to become faded and can get discolored. As long as you're cleaning them thoroughly with hot water and dawn like Danny said, they will last quite some time
