Preventing Window Scratches by rolling up/down

Hey everyone, this has happened to my other vehicles in the past too. When I roll my windows up or down, scratches appear. I'm assuming it's due to dust being in the weather stripping, but maybe not?
I thought those strippings were supposed to be soft enough to not let dust scratch the glass.

This is a common issue with mustangs. When I wash I pressure rinse the weather striping to dislodge any dirt I then use my shop vac with a skinny extension attachment to vac out the dust out of the weather stripping this helps out a lot

That's great man I suggests you pick up a 3M superbuff III wool pad with the 3M extension I would then get some Meguiars M105 or Menzerna power gloss to compound them. Your going to need an aggressive compound to take out those scratches and even then your not going to get them all out

Basically you wash your car like this and it will clean that right out.

And tape edges/trim. So easy to destroy that kind of stuff with wool and a rotary.

You'll have to follow it up with a foam pad though because the wool will leave slight hazing on the windows. I prefer using Menzerna Intensive Polish for this, but most of the time it's just for baked on water spots.

Yeah make sure you tape up your belt molding and edges man and like Zinc said its best to follow up with a medium polish and a foam pad to remove any hazing left over from M105 or Powergloss
