So just the Air inlet and alternator needs to be covered? everything else will be just fine to get wet?

yes, like it says, don't hammer the engine bay with water, just rinse as needed to remove grime and cleaner..

Great post Erin, pretty much followed the same process with my '04 with the exception of F21 which I'll be trying next.

Do you for see any problems with the coin operated car washes to clean the engine bay. I do not have a means to clean it with a regular hose.

Great info...never thought to use simple green before tire foam...I've been using the tire foam trick for a while, but the simple green is brilliant!

That's where I cleaned mine. Just use the low spray setting which works great.

it is all good and it is good to see that the procedure above can make a car that is 6 years old look like new under the hood. looks good!
