Use a left over grocery bag if it's easier.. just protect it from water.
I recommend F-21 because it works perfect, If you sway away, I can't vouch for another product, this is what I knew would leave a non glossy shine that doesn't collect dust. It's the only product that really has and I tried many.. My suggestion is - If you have to, order it.

I've used folded up aluminum foil, then sort of finagle it in to place by poking it with a screwdriver. I put a bit in from the front-right side (if you're facing the engine bay from the front of the car), and then slid some into the left side between the alternator and the giant radiator hose.

I'm surprised you can't find it at an O'Reilly's or Autozone, never had an issue finding it out here. Let me know if you want me to mail you some or something, lol.

Walmart carries it!
And I don't do the foil thing and haven't had any issues - yet! Just throw a walmart bag over the intake filter. Here's a tip though - DO NOT START THE CAR WITH A BAG OVER THE FILTER. Makes one helluva noise!

I remember when i first did this...I put that aluminum foil over the alternator thinking nothing of it...Thus many sparks resulted and me being scared shitless as to what just happened....it was worth it though
![]() I missed a lot of spots because after washing the car it was already dark and i could barely see, but it was a really big improvement Before ![]() After

As mentioned, F21 is the only product I have found to leave a semi gloss shine, everything else leaves the engine bay with a greasey film that attracts dust and it looks like jerry curl was used.
I personally don't want to have to clean under there more often than necessary. So I stuck with the F21 as it's proven itself..
