I use Simple Green diluted 4:1 every time I do my motor, that or purple power. Been doing it for 2 years and never had a problem.

Mama, as long as you rinse it off thoroughly you will be fine, and it works great!

my engine compartment is clearcoated...is the simple green or the tire foam going to do anything to it?

any idea why my post about using simple green diluted is completely different then using the concentrate was deleted?

Please don't delete my post so that I cannot give a proper retort. That isn't directed at you, it was directed in general.

Doc I've been monitoring this closely and don't remember seeing that post - are you sure you posted in this thread? What time was it??

PS: Just used the diluted Simple Green and it seemed to work fine! Thanks guys!

Also - Ace - Did the hood liner - it's drying now so we'll see what it looks like dry but it looks fab wet!

I haven't had issues with the tire foam and just used the Diluted Simple Green.

I really believe if you spray it on, then high pressure it off before it dries, you're not going to have any issues.

Also remember to get a towel in there and wipe it down afterwards to get the baked on dust.

Simple Green is fine to use diluted. It wouldn't touch my engine bay at full strength but either would Meguiars APC+ ... They are both essentially all purpose cleaners (Hence, Meguiars APC).

I cant bring myself to do it!! I honestly can't bring myself to take the hose to my engine bay, My dad did it to my explorer once and immediately after my check engine light came on and I had to change all my sensors and I STILL Don't know why the check engine light is STILL on!!

I know - just pullin' your chain.

Gene, I wonder if maybe he got the hose too close and knocked something loose or forced water someplace it shouldn't have been??

I have done this several times - no problems. I will admit though I say a little prayer every time. lol

I know the dealership that I buy from does this with all their cars (100% used lot). No issues....

So... is it necessary to dilute the simple green at all? The orignial write-up doesn't say so, but some of you mention that you did dilute it. I'm about to FINALLY do this, just not clear on that one part.
