I detail for a living, and that little Meguiars polisher that I can see in the first pic, I swear those were sent from car detailing heaven. It's the best thing ever.

*edit* whoa whoa.. 8-10 hours of work? pfftt... 2 maybe 3, tops. tops. TOPS! (as I remember the George Carlin joke about shiatting on his hands)

2-3 hours? It takes me 2-3 hours with the porter cable alone lol. You have to work the polishes in for 3-5 minutes before they break down. Every little spec shows on black, if the polish isn't broken down correctly it will show. I wish it took 2-3 hours lol

EDIT: The meguiars box is a claybar kit

Nice little write up. I'm glad someone else takes pride in their detailing. I know a lot of people who think they know about detailing but really don't have the slightest clue what it takes to do a quality detail. I used to detail on the side for a guy who owns an airport and owns about every exotic car known to man. I have enough money wrapped up in detailing supplies to of bought a supercharger for my car ...

I hope to God you are kidding ... Buffing removes such a small amount of clearcoat that you need a micrometer to measure it. Sealant is a sealer, it's not a paint or a clearcoat.

I was going by what pigs write up says since I acully read it.
It says buffing removes some the clearcoat so thats why I was asking, you need to keep your comments to yourself.

What he said to you doesn't warrant the response you gave back.

But that doesn't matter. We have a forum specifically for calling someone out.

You can do so there, but please leave the drama out of the tech threads.

BK, sealant just seals the paint to protect it from contaminants like tree sap, rain, pollen, ect. The only way to get a clearcoat back is by repainting. The compound removes so little of the clear coat its not anything you need to worry about, however I don't recommend compounding more than 2 times a year.

Damn thats a lot of supplies lol. I've always admired your car, its tough to keep black looking that good. The winters here are rough so I get some swirling as you can imagine but I try to keep it to a minimum. I actually took Emay's advice of buying towels at costco and just throwing them out after one use. $11 bucks for 50 microfibers isn't bad lol It's helped a lot in keeping the swirling at a minimal.

I've scrapped a few times with the Steeda Sport Springs but it's holding up great.
