What kind of wheels are they? In general, if you want to get real picky and detailed, use a small rag and some wax. Aluminum wheels require a real good metal polish and take a lot of work to keep looking good, but are way worth it in the end. But it depends what you have.

for my black bullitts i use:

Wizards Products:
Shine Master™ Polish & Sealant

for my draglites and any other metal i use:

Wizards Products:
Wizards® Metal Polish

I love the wizards line, Its about all i use anymore for any car cleaning/waxing/buffing/polishing i do now.
