2006 Turbocharger

I've decided it is time to add a little power to the mustang. It is an 06' GT Conv. and it is my daily car (looking for a beater car currently) so I'm not looking for anything obscene, but i want enough to push me back in the seat. Essentially I am looking ge the most out of it without hitting the expensive gas. Im not sure if there is a way to maintain gas mileage under normal usage. Im basically looking for get-up and go power. I also plan to upgrade the rest of my exhaust at some point to get a much deeper sound...but that is another post.

SO basically, Best power under normal gas. Thank you.

tune it, throw 4.10 gears in it. and then full exhaust Headers,x or h pipe, and cat back. and then it should be about the same gas milege because the tuner will give it better gas milage and the gears will make it a lil worse so it evens out. or just a supercharger and a tune. turbos are really expensive.

what power inscrease are we looking here? I don't mind puting a little money in it right now. For example, im trying to find a Shelby but dont think I'll find one without spending 20k over. So i don't mind putting a little money into the car to make it feel a little closer to heaven.

do the turbos!!! itll kick ass and give better numbers than the supercharger will. supercharghers are a little less expensive but wont get you the gains or the effiecency that the nturbos willd do. your looking at over 6000 for the trubo setup but its well worth it. youll love em. also do the 3.73 gears if you decide to go with the turbos, also full exhaust except headers cuz youll get new manifold with the turbo kit.

your car with turbos will kill shelbys and zo6s daily

Good info thanks. I was just reading however, and confirmed some things i was hoping not to. I was looking at an HP or Vortec but noticed they both need premium fuel. What options would i have if i wanted to maintain normal fuel or at worst the middle fuel? (Using premium fuel on a daily driver might not be the best idea in the world). What i might need to do is do something for mediocre gains, and then when i get a second car go all out and install the turbo's. Any suggestions?

u can do things to it that don't affect the gas at all

like weight reduction, this includes things like lightweight driveshafts and fiberglass body kits (which helps improve aerodynamics), get underdrive pulleys and tune it like stated before. gears will kill ur mileage, but i wud still get them, jus not 4.10. thats a bit overkill for my tastes
