its just a car specific tune. If you get a tuner offline it will come with a generic or "canned" tune that is just a generic improvement for most cars.
A dyno tune would be you going to a tuning shop get your specific car on the dyno and them editing the tune to get the best performance out of your personal car.

dyno tune- car is actually at a shop getting tuned while on the dyno. more accurate for your car and atmosphere. expect to spent $350+ depending on how much time it takes and according to your mods.

canned/email tune- either send via computer or programmed to the tune before you install it on your car. cheaper and easier to use but not as close as a dyno tune.

canned tunes are easy, load on tuner, connect to car, load tune. canned tune normally come with a tuner and are fine unless your running nitrous, turbo, s/c, ect.

canned tune looking at 350 for the tuner included, for a dyno tune 350 for the tuner plus 500 to have it tuned

A tuner is a great investment Pro. It doubles as a code reader which is really nice to have...especially once you start modding the car. As far as the canned tunes go, the programs that came with the Xcal3 are outstanding. They really "wake up" your car even if its just stock with no mods at all.

which is better to use the xcal3 or a sniper? is there any difference in them cuz ive heard that sniper allows for more options but not many dyno places support them.
