Refresh my memory guys
I bought a new cam for one of my chebby motors. The cam is steel and I couldnt remember if you use a steel gear on a steel cam or a bronze one. I do know that it matters but I cant remember which one goes with which.

HAHA!!! At first I thought you were being sarcastic then I realized that the Distributor on a chebby IS on the opposite end of a Ford.

More help than you think. I was thinking it was steel on steel and bronze on cast myself but needed a second opinion. Thanks.

it all has to do with metal compatibility so the bronze gears are designed to take the brunt of the wear and damage instead of the cam itself. Basically, a softer metal cam needs a softer gear.
