twin turbo ate a piston!!

Hey guys built a twin turbo setup for my 96 gt, had it running for a while at 8psi on everything stock and i ended up cracking 2 pistons and breaking one all 3 around the ring lands, no damage has been done to the block or heads and it looks like all i need is pistons. question is, can i go with another set of hypeuretic's or do i need to go forged, i never plan on going more then 400rwhp if i get it there, and the problem is im not working right now and i dont have much i can spend on her, but she is my DD so i cant be without her for long. what do you guys think, dished hypers ok>? im in b.c canada so forged is about 1100 to get and have shipped thanks

IF you dont get forged your likely to break pistons again. Did the ring lands brake off or just crack? If the broke off your gonna want to get the heads checked. It would be very possible for a piece to get into the heads and do damage.

everything is good, the pistons cracked in between the lands, the broken part was also in between the lands but in the cylinders couldnt come out, theres no peices missing. ive heard lots of guys on her talking about running 10lbs on stock engines, am i just an unlucky happening or are they b.s? difference from forged and hypers here are over $600 so..thats why im trying to get away with hypers.....

Get your tuned fixed and you wont blow up pistons at only 8psi.

The stock MAF will be fine, you injectors should work fine but they will definately be at their upper limits, I would replace them to be safe. Actually they are easy enough, that you can just have your tuner replace them if fuels is low when he tunes it.

Upgrade everything. Fuel pump, injectors (to 60s because they cost the same) or the 39# cobra, because there are lots of used sets around. Get a new maf too (90mm Lmaf). Chances are everything is pegged and you went lean and thats why you have a hurt motor. the tuner should never have tuned your setup like this. If someone came to me with stock parts and 8psi (~50% increase in power) i'd tell them to come back when they had the right parts. I don't hack job tune because the customer is too cheap to buy the right parts. Its too risky.
