Procharger Questions
I bought a Procharger, P1SC with intercooler, for my 2004 Mustang Mach 1. It has the 4.6L V8 DOHC, with this Procharger I understood that it was a bolt on kit and it works with no other side upgrades to make it work. I know it will work better with a tune but is that required for my car to run properly. I plan on getting it tuned next year after my Iraq tour. I plan to install the Procharger on my two week leave back to the states and was wondering if there were any other things I need to get so I can just install and have it working in a day or so. Some people (like 2-3) said I WILL need a different Mass Air Flow Sensor and that my stock one will not work because it will “peg” out. Also that I may need a different type of spark plugs. If I do get a new one of those then I will mostly likely NEED a tune right away. I only have a short time back home before I need to come back so if you could please tell me what installing this in tales in what other parts I may need so I can have them ordered before I get home that would be amazing, thanks guys…. I need any help I can get.....

You will need a tune after the procharger install so I would find a good tuner preferably one with a dyno & talk with them before buying anything else to see what they reccomend for their tunes. Some use different brands of programers and MAf sensors & so forth. You may need to upgrade the injectors & fuel pump also.

If you run the stock pulley your MAF will be fine. The stock MAF is good to about 400hp. You will need new injectors but you should get some with your kit. Anytime you adust the air or fuel going into your car as much as you be you NEED a tune. If you dont tune it your engine WILL blow up.

yeah thats what I found out, the kit I bout didnt have a ECM tunner\reprogramer, so thats all I need to buy as for parts, the kit has everything else, Then I'll in install everything, trailer to a Dyno place and have it tuned with a new MFA on it too.

I think they will work fine. Heard of a lot of guys using a Mafia. I think they peg out at like 5500 rpms or something. I bought the SCT 2600 to be sure. It was pricey, but piece of mind on that side of the house is worth it imo.
