help with my 2003 v6, sounds like tickin when stepping on gas

Ok so I am the only owner since new of my 2003 v6 I traded it in on my gt an then 4 yrs later they still had it so bought it back but everytime I drive an start it up theirs a ticking, first it was the header gasket but that didn't fix it totally, I had a few exhaust leaks an got them taken care of an that didn't fix it. Could it be an engine knock w only 35k on my car?? I need help on wat to do. I tried seamfoaming to see if it would help an it made car ran better but def didn't help ticking. Sounds like valves tickin or something. Should I try an octane booster? I just run the lowest grade octane 89. Anyone please help thanks

Does it go away if you run premium? (I'm guessing no, and for the record, octane booster is a joke)

Have you checked the clearance on the valves?

octane booster raises the octane level of your gasoline 1 point, all for 8.95 to go from 93 to 94.

No, a "point" in octane-booster speak is 0.1 octane (i.e point 1), NOT 1.0. So it raises 93 to 93.1.

Still, $8.95 for 1 octane difference, when the difference in price between 2 different grades of fuel for a 15 gallon tank is $3.00 at most.
