which blower
I recently bought a 1996 mystic cobra with 20,000mi on it and is bone stock. my plans this winter is do a catback, short throw shifter, and a good tune up. I want to save up for a blower over the summer to install next winter, but cant decide on which one to go with. I was either thinking of a kenne bell or a procharger. they both build power at differant rpms. I also would consider a vortech or paxton. right now I going to keep the stock internals so i want to stay around 400 to 450 hp. but would like to get one that i can possibly turn up the boost down the road when i go to redo the motor.

If you're looking for more low end torque, get the kenne bell. If you want more power up top, get any of the centrifugal kits. Which one you get is totally up to you. Personally, im in favor of Kenne Bells, but the 1.7L is a bid small for 4v heads compared to others imo. They may be 2.1L now, not sure.
But again, its up to you. Depends on what you want out of your car and what you want to do with it. |
